Determining Breast
Size
When determining your
ideal breast size you should have a realistic idea about the look
you want to achieve taking into consideration the breasts you
already have.
Breast implants
come in two different shapes
- Round –
Create a round curve in the upper part of the breast
- Anatomical (teardrop
shaped) - These create a gentle slope making your upper
area fuller.
The
main objective is to obtain as natural a look as possible.
If you have very small breasts you would be best to choose a size
that is one or two sizes bigger. The amount of breast tissue coverage
you currently have is important in determining the size of implant
for your body. Palpable implant edges and other possible problems
become a problem when there is not an adequate amount of breast
tissue for the implant size.
Implant Measurements
Implants do not come in cup sizes as we ourselves refer to them
as; their sizes are measured in ounces or ccs. Your existing breast
and body size becomes a big factor in determining the size of
breast that would be best for you.
Breast implant
surgery is not the same for all women. It is important that
when deciding on breast size you don’t try to measure up
to anyone else, including those who have had implant surgery.
Women come in all types of shapes and sizes. You have to decide
upon a breast size that is realistic to your own bodily proportions.
It is unrealistic
to take a picture out of a magazine and say “I want to look
like this.” You have to work with your body type and what
mother-nature has given to you to find the right size breasts
for you.
Bra-size Test
You could try buying a larger bra size and fill it up with cotton
or another material to get a clearer idea of what would suit you
best. Examine yourself in the mirror at every angle.
If you do not feel
sure about the implant size, your doctor will still discuss your
options with you and help you come to the best decision.
